I survived my first visit in the state of Kentucky! The Morehead State campus was beautiful, and the warm weather and friendly campus community reminded me of UNCW. I stayed at the presiden't apartment for my visit while she stayed with another woman in the chapter and it was only a five minute walk to the student center where I had my meetings! The cool thing was that it was a school about the same size as UNCW but the campus was much more compact...it made me realize how much Wilmington was ridiculously spread out.

On the night of the first day of recruitment there is an Ice Cream Social event that's a beginning of school tradition on campus. All of the greek organizations make a "grand entrance" of sorts, like last year Chi Omega rode in on a fire truck and this year Delta Zeta came in stretch Hummers. So this year our chapter rode in on a pontoon boat! I got to ride along with them and it was tons of fun! It was a really cool event to see all of the people out on campus and that the greeks were so involved with it.

Before the ice cream social we went to a magician that was really cool as well, also reminded me of all the welcome back stuff UNCW always had. While I was there I had lots of meetings and some big chapter meetings with the girls. I got to go to some really good local food places, a really yummy Italian place called Mellini's, a Mexican place called La Finca's and then the famous "Fuzzy Duck" coffee & sandwich shop that I've heard about everytime I told someone I was visiting in Morehead! The girls were very nice and I felt like a princess with all of the meals and hospitality all week! It was a great first visit!
Now I am at Illinois State University until Sept. 4th! It's funny because the weather is actually rather chilly here, but today was nice and sunny. I went with the girls to buy stuff for recruitment today to make fleece blankets to send to the children's hospital. We had to buy 154 yds of fabric...and the ladies at the store were not too happy! We packed the president's car to the brim and somehow got it home! All here has been good so far and I'm excited to start the week.
Until next time,
xoxo Anna
