One week of training left

This past week we spent in Indianapolis and it was a great break from VA! With our Tahoe packed to the brim, we had to tie down some suitcases to the lugagge rack...no big deal until it decided it wanted to rain! We then spent a while on the highway with a tarp flying off the car similar to a cape. No joke.
We first went to our boss' house in Muncie and got to see the campus at Ball State University where we did a workshop with the campus Greek Advisor on how to conduct meetings during our visits. From there we went to Indy where we spent Monday & Tuesday at Risk Management on the Road. This was a conference set up by the insurance company that most panhellenic sororities use where we learned more about the insurance, liabilities, etc. and were able to hear from some amazing speakers including Colleen Coffey, one of the authors of "I Heart Recruitment." This was a really cool conference because there were 12 other groups of consultants there as well and I was able to meet women that will be traveling to the same schools as mine. I also got to meet up with a consultant from Delta Zeta, Sarah Woodard, who is from UNCW as well!

Monday evening we had the opportunity to go to an Indy Indians baseball game with consultants from different fraternities and sororities which was a cool experience since our headquarters is not in Indianapolis, as a majority of greek organizations are. We got to meet some cool people and again make contacts with other consultants going to the same campus' as us!

Wednesday was spent learning more about Tri Sigma programs with one of our staff, Chris, who made a very yummy dinner for us afterwards! We were also able to meet with her husband, Pete who is the CEO of the National Interfraternity Conference and do a workshop with him. Thursday we went to Alpha Chi Omega's headquarters (which was soooo gorgeous!) and did a Phired Up recruitment workshop with Jessica Gendron, the second author of "I Heart Recruitment." I think this was definitely one of my favorite workshops yet and I'm excited to have this awesome info for my traveling.

After the long travel back on Friday we have been relaxing back @ the Walton House and yesterday we were even able to spend some time @ the Woodstock Community Pool and have a nice dinner @ a Japanese steakhouse in Winchester, about 30 min. north of here.

I have my first flight booked to Lexington, KY on August 15! From there my travels are as follows:
Morehead State in KY 8/15-8/20
Illinois State 8/20-9/4
Penn State 9/4-9/18
Defiance College in Oh 9/18-9/27

Then I'll be back in Woodstock until our fall break in Oct, which I should know the exact dates by the end of this week. Hopefully I'll be spending that time in Clemson going to my yearly college football game with my bff's Nina & Brian :)

We have our last week of training this week, and the Assitant Directors of Chapter Services, who we will report to according to the region of our chapters are here for programming as well! I am excited to finally meet them since we've only been in contact through email. After this week the real work starts and then I'm off in two Saturday's from now! I can't believe how the time has flown!

Don't forget to write & send me something sweet:
